Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre is located on the northern slopes of Thiruvilwamala, which merges into the banks of the holy river Nila (Bharathapuzha). This undulating terrain of 40 acres with lush green vegetation is continuously swept and hugged by the gentle northern breeze that bring the purity, serenity Mission : To mould our youngsters into Millennium leaders not only in Technological and Scientific fields but also to nurture and strengthen the innate goodness and humane nature in them, to equip them to face the future challenges in technological breakthroughs and information explosions.

 The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades and are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

The Director General NCC, Delhi approved of raising one NCC Senior Division Platoon consisting of 56 SD Cadets strength under the terms and conditions by Self-financing Institutions at Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre with 23(K) Battalion, Thrissur as the Controlling Unit. Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre is the first Self-financing engineering College in Kerala to start NCC Activities. The first batch of NCC Cadets were selected by the PI Staff of 23(K) Battalion, Thrissur, and the 28 cadets were enrolled as the first batch of NCC Cadets in the history of NCERC.
