The Department of Mechanical Engineering (Industry Integrated) at Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre (Autonomous), Pampady, organized Industria Mech Summit - 2026 at the Aryabhata Seminar Hall, aiming to strengthen the link between engineering education and industrial practices. Welcome address by Dr Benny Paul , HOD (Mechanical Engineering (Industry Integrated).
The summit was inaugurated by Adv Dr. P. Krishnadas, Honorary Trade Commissioner of Mauritius–India, Chancellor of P K Das Deemed to be University and Chairman & Managing Trustee, NGI, highlighted the importance of integrating industry exposure with academic learning to prepare students for emerging technological challenges.
The Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IICC) of NCERC also inaugurated during the function to further strengthen industry connect and collaboration with academic programmes.
An expert session was delivered by Shri Sreenivasa Pai S, Head of Engineering Services and Sustainability at Saint-Gobain SEFPRO, who shared insights on modern industrial practices and sustainability in engineering.
The event also featured a panel discussion with industry experts including Shri E. B. Suresh (Fluid Control Research Institute), Shri K. K. Babu (Sreerama Scaffoldings), Shri Sreejith G (Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation), Shri Ajith M. S. (Department of Factories & Boilers, Government of Kerala), Shri Hareesh K (SILK Foundry), Shri V Rajappan (Navabharath Systems & Devices) and Shri Jayakrishnan (Southern Railway).
The programme was presided over by Dr. Sudheer S Maraar, Dean of Academy, NCERC. Faculty members, students and industry representatives participated in the summit, making it a valuable platform for interaction between academia and industry.
